Lionel Beukes – A versatile musician, Lionel is not only a double bass and electric bass player but also a vocalist. His repertoire features legendary jazz standards by Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra. Growing up in District Six, Cape Town, Lionel began his professional career in 1970, performing across South Africa and internationally, and has recorded with renowned artists like Abdullah Ibrahim (Dollar Brand).
Alfio Sartirana – A gifted pianist with a magnetic presence, Alfio’s performances capture the elegance and timeless charm of classic jazz, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and warmth. Known for his expressive playing style, he brings a refined ambiance to our weekend jazz sessions, enchanting a loyal following of both locals and international visitors. Many of his fans cherish unforgettable memories spent by his piano, making each performance a special moment to remember.
Melorie Jane – An award-winning maestro of Afro-funk jazz, Melorie Jane brings electrifying energy to every performance. Her unique style fuses jazz with Afro-funk, creating a vibrant and unforgettable experience that captivates and delights all who listen.Winston Siljeur – A pianist, musical director, arranger, composer, producer, and teacher from Robertson, Western Cape, Winston brings dynamic charisma and refined artistry to our stage.
Rocco de Villiers – A renowned South African pianist and composer, celebrated for his distinctive style that blends instrumental pop and rock influences with original compositions. His performances are known for their emotional depth, technical brilliance, and engaging stage presence, offering a fresh perspective on popular favourites alongside his own works. A versatile artist, Rocco captivates audiences with his ability to connect through music and charisma. Derk Blaisse – Originally from Amsterdam, Derk is a self-taught pianist and the visionary behind The CRYPT Jazz Restaurant in Cape Town. Now a well loved figure in Franschhoek, Derk’s rich, soulful sound has become a beloved part of our jazz evenings.
Laura Truter – A classically trained musician with roots at the Orbinski School of Music and honed skills from the renowned Sibelius Academy in Finland, Laura Truter’s music speaks the universal language of love. Her performances have the unique ability to transport listeners, filling the air with beauty, emotion, and an enchanting presence that captivates the soul. Whether playing for an intimate gathering or a grand audience, Laura’s music creates moments that linger long after the last note fades.
Vanessa Phillips – A versatile talent in the world of music, Vanessa Phillips is a classically trained pianist, pop singer, and passionate music educator.
